The 2019 Reading Rush is officially over! It was so much fun to participate, even though I had to change things around when I got sick halfway through the week.
Here is my original TBR. To break it down quickly, here are the books I meant to read for The Reading Rush:
- Read a book with purple on the cover: Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
- Read an entire book in the same spot: All Systems Red: The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells
- Read a book you meant to read last year: Vicious by V.E. Schwab
- Read an author’s first book: This Monstrous Thing by Mackenzi Lee
- Read a book with a non-human main character: The Last Wish: Introducing the Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski
- Read a book with five or more words in the title: The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
- Read a book and watch the film adaptation: Misery by Stephen King
Here are the books I actually read:
- Read a book with purple on the cover: Doctor Strange: A Separate Reality by Steve Englehart
- Read an entire book in the same spot: Despicable Deadpool, Vol 1: Deadpool Kills Cable by Gerry Duggan
- Read a book you meant to read last year: Vicious by V.E. Schwab
- Read an author’s first book: Did not complete
- Read a book with a non-human main character: Doctor Who: Nothing O’Clock by Neil Gaiman
- Read a book with five or more words in the title: The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
- Read a book and watch the film adaptation: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The only challenge I didn’t finish was to read an author’s first book. Six books in seven days is pretty great though, especially when I was super sick for three of those days.
