There’s been a serious lack of blog and social media updating from me this month, due to a few reasons. I’ve been working a massive amount of overtime at work, my cheap laptop and seven-year-old phone are starting to crap out on me, and I’m so tired.
Luckily, I won’t be working overtime forever. The company I work for doesn’t offer it often, so I’m trying to take advantage of it while I can. I’m also about to purchase a new phone and laptop, and I’m switching over to Mac products so that extra overtime is going to come in handy. The tiredness… well, I think that’s from just being overworked and overwhelmed.
On the plus side, I visited my psychiatrist earlier in the month and we quadrupled my mood stabilizer. Apparently, she had started me off on a dose significantly lower than what most people take, and it wasn’t working. Now, though, I’m starting to feel so much better! My mood has been more stable the past week and a half than it has been in years. Occasionally I wonder if I could go off the psych meds entirely because I hate being on so many medications just to function, but then I think of how wild my moods were before I was diagnosed as bipolar II. Yes, I hate taking handfuls of pills every day, but at least now I can get through my days relatively easily.
Due to all the overtime that I mentioned earlier, I am already getting behind in my reading. I’m currently re-reading J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, as well as reading Autism by Dr. Robert Melillo and Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens (which is freaking incredible!).
I’m thinking about combining my blog-related Instagram with my personal one because I don’t have time to keep updated with both. If I do so, I’ll post an update on the blog to let you know.
Also, I am still planning on starting a Booktube channel. I know I really dropped the ball at the beginning of the year but not uploading a video the first week, but I didn’t realize how difficult editing was! One of the reasons I’m buying a Macbook is due to Movie Maker being easier (and free) to use, so hopefully, I’ll get a couple videos done then.
I think that’s it for the week. I’m really trying to find the energy to blog more often, but I have so little time due to working 50ish hours a week. Hopefully, things will get back to normal after the overtime ends.
Doing well! New year has already been crazy. I’m currently reading Why Does He Do That?… which, despite sounding like self-help garbage, is actually a super fascinating look at the mentality of abusers. I like to keep it light for 2020 haha
