It’s so hard to believe that 2019 is over and that we’re already into the 2020s! I know it’s a cliche thing to say, but time really does seem to move faster the older you get.
2019 has been an interesting year for me. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder this year, finally learning why my brain has worked the way it has for the last decade or so. I’ve also spent this year working alongside my doctors to find a combination of medications that allow me to function, which we still haven’t figured out completely yet.
Read Yourself Happy has grown so much this year that I can hardly believe it! I started this blog because I live in an area where I don’t have any bookish friends to obsess over books with, and doing it online seemed like a good idea. I never expected that in just a bit over a year my blog would have grown to over 1,000 subscribers and that I would have been working with authors and publishers.
This blog has been a definite bright spot in my life, and I hope it will continue to grow. I have all of you to thank for how joyous of an experience this has been. I love talking to other members of the online book community and am looking forward to getting to know all of you even better in 2020.
I have a lot of big plans for 2020, both in my personal life and for Read Yourself Happy. Now, for some exciting news! My booktube channel, Read Yourself Happy, will begin tomorrow, January 1st! While I’m terrified and nervous about posting the first video, I’m also super excited to be expanding into a new platform. YouTube will not be replacing this blog, just supplementing it. Go ahead and subscribe (and ring the bell) to be notified when my first video goes up tomorrow!
Thank you all so much for the support you’ve given me and the blog in 2018 and 2019. I appreciate it all more than you can know.
I hope each and every one of you has a fantastic New Year’s, and I’ll see you guys in 2020!
