A Look Back on 2018 and My Goals for 2019

2018 has been an exciting year for me. I moved in with the love of my life, Ian, and living with him has been even more fun than I could have imagined. I started Read Yourself Happy which has given me a hobby and community that I never want to do without. I started a new job where I’m finally making a living wage and find myself in a supportive work community.

My goal for 2019 is to make this year even better. I have high hopes for this blog and where I’m taking it in the future, such as starting a bookstagram for the blog and a YouTube channel. I’m already planning several trips this year (I couldn’t afford to travel in 2018) and am looking forward to seeing new places. Ian just got a new job (at the same place that I work) and that’s going to make our lives considerably easier. Everything seems to be geared toward an amazing 2019.

I’m incredibly thankful for all the support I received when I shared some details on my struggles with anxiety and depression and searching for a medication that doesn’t make me feel worse.

I read some absolutely incredible books and series this year as well as some that were not so great.

I also want to say a huge thank you! to everyone who has read this blog, commented on it, or shared it. I’ve felt so welcome in the book blogger community!

2019 Goals

My original intention for Read Yourself Happy was a book and wellness blog, with the goal being to help people live happier lives. I’ve struggled with depression for most of my life (since middle school) and I want to share my stories with how I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety, as well as wellness tips that have helped me lead a generally happier life. For the first few months of the blog, I focused more on books than the wellness aspect, but that will change in 2019.

I’m also going to be setting up a connected YouTube channel and Instagram account to connect with all of you guys in new ways! The blog will also start to include information about the history of books and journaling, both topics that I love.

Again, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this blog. I couldn’t have done it without you!
